The Alexandra House of Joy will be the fulfilment of our vision for an inclusive community, where our adults with severe and profound learning disabilities can have a voice.

This project will offer a Centre in Oxfordshire providing Day Time Support, Respite Services, and Hospice Care.

We want each person who visits to feel heard, loved and included.

We are delighted that Councillor Les Sibley, Chairman of Cherwell District Council, is supporting Alexandra House of Joy as his chosen charity for 2022/2023. Join the ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign to help build this house!
Based on the first draft drawings, this video offers a preview of the purpose-built centre your contribution will help to build for adults with severe learning disabilities in the local area:

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to value and encourage each adult to enable them to make their own choices whenever possible, so that they will feel heard, respected, included and loved.

Vision for the Alexandra House of Joy

Alexandra House will be a purpose built community including a day centre with arranged daily activities for adults with learning disabilities aged 19 years and upwards.

There will be six bedrooms available for respite stays and end of life palliative care for adults with profound and severe disabilities.

Alexandra House will offer opportunities to adults with learning disabilities in the local communities; access to the day time support centre, music room, sensory room, computer room, art and craft and outdoor activities.

The House will be set in well planned, landscaped sensory gardens with easy access pathways. Our hydrotherapy pool will be inclusive and available to people with medical conditions in the local community.
