May Celebrity Quiz Night for AHJ

On May 26, 2023 a fantastic fundraising event was held at Chesterton Community Centre.

The celebrity quiz night was led by Dr Darragh Ennis –  “The Menace” from TV shows ‘The Chase’ and ‘Beat the Chasers – and written by Chris Curtis – Winner of ITV’s ‘Britain’s Brainiest Family’ with Vince O’Connor – Oxfordshire League 4 Champion doing a grand job at totalling up the scores!

There was also a raffle with wonderful prizes from supporters and friends of Alexandra House of Joy and a wonderful time was had.

Chairman Councillor Les Sibley Presents Fundraising Cheque for 2022-2023 and Confirms Alexandra House of Joy as His Chosen Charity Again!

During the Cherwell District Council AGM, held on May 17th 2023 at the Cherwell District Council offices in Bodicote, Banbury, Cllr Les Sibley presented Ian and Rachael with a cheque for £10,600 – the total fundraising amount raised during the 2022-2023 as Cllr Sibley’s elected charity.

Throughout his recent term of office as Chair of Cherwell District Council from May 2022 – 2023, Cllr Sibley held various fundraising functions and raised wonderful funds for the target goal to build Alexandra House of Joy and purchase necessary computer equipment for the charity. Part of his fundraising campaign was the ‘Buy a Brick’ appeal which raised almost £4,000.

Councillor Sibley also confirmed Alexandra House of Joy as his elected charity for his second term of office, 2023-2024.

“A Right Royal Tea and Talk”

On February 19th 2023, Cllr Les Sibley – Chair of Cherwell District Council – held a fundraising event to raise funds for AHoJ, his chosen charity of the year 2022-2023.

Held from 3pm to 6pm at the Wroxton House Hotel in Banbury, Oxfordshire the afternoon began with talk from Ian Scott-Hunter about his memoirs as a Royal family in the 1970s.

The talk was followed by a delicious afternoon tea served by the staff of the lovely Wroxton House Hotel. Cllr Sibley then drew the raffle which came from many wonderful donations from people wanting to support Alexandra House of Joy.

In total the event raised the wonderful sum of £1,145!
